Allowing content type set to Other>application/json using the $$SearchTemplate form

When using $$SearchTemplates forms you cannot set the content type to Other>application/json on the Form Properties because Domino always tries to open the $$SearchTemplate to display the results using OpenForm instead of ReadForm.

Being able to force it to return the search results using the $$SearchTemplate form by opening it with a ReadForm instead of an OpenForm would then allow the search results to be returned as HTML or JSON.
