Enable a programabel (@Functions) helptext appearing when mouse over the button PLEASE, PRETTY PLEASE, PRETTY PLEASE WITH SUGAR ON IT ;=)
I mean, if in designer I place the cursor on a tab in a properties, there is a pop up help text.... if it makes sense there, so why does it not make sense on action buttons of forms and views ?!?
For view icons, one has to use the name of the icon as help text which is really not practical when writing the program. Same here... a field with @ capability to compute the text.
For hotspots on a form, same issue : no way to comment. Same applies to buttons in a form.
Images in forms have a legend field, with no @ capability.
Give the Notes vintage UI a little love....

I saw, that Font Awesome is integrated in 12.0.2. However, it's only for XPages, but should be for the client also in an easy way. ant his should not be bitmaps any more.
Have more available. Old ones can be kept for backward compatibility (maybe look better) but new ones added.
As for the Action Icons, who ever thought making JUST the letters A through J was a good idea? Jeeze, I know it's been that way since version 1 but it really needs the rest of the alphabet.
That old list of view icons is so outdated. I can't even find the list of Column Icons in the Version 10 help database. I have to search online and get it off of IBM's 8.5 website.
Make icons SVG. Bitmaps are so 80's or 90's these days. Rendering on more common HiRes screens will be better, faster and nicer for all of us.
font awesome is great for icons, maybe it can be integrated. we use in xpages projects...
