    Updating the servlet version will also allow using annotations in XPages / server Java. It will also allow leveraging packages / frameworks that use annotations. As Java 8 matures (possible to OpenJDK 9 +?), more and more of the standard libraries on the web will be using annotations, so this will help keep Domino applications current.
