#dominoforever | Product Ideas Portal

Welcome to the #dominoforever Product Ideas Forum! The place where you can submit product ideas and enhancement request. We encourage you to participate by voting on, commenting on, and creating new ideas. All new ideas will be evaluated by HCL Product Management & Engineering teams, and the next steps will be communicated. While not all submitted ideas will be executed upon, community feedback will play a key role in influencing which ideas are and when they will be implemented.

Outlines need an urgent overhaul

We nowadays can use our Notes application on mobile phones, tablets and other devices with smaller screens. That's why HCl allowed us developers to take care of the screen size in views and forms.

But in the Notes Outline the most important option is missing: An Outline that solely consists of ... images for a very compact selection / small footprint !!!

This is currently not really possible without loosing the overview in the designer in an outline element. But this option would allow us to have Outlines that do not take so much space (good for mobile, tablet & Co) and look way better, more "sexy" will the sales people probably say ...

Thus I herewith suggest to overhaul the NotesOutline so that:

  1. It should be possible to use an Outline Entry that only(!) displays an image when used in an application (Outline Entry Option : "Image only" or similar)

  2. The outline popup text should appear like tooltip text when the mouse is over an outline entry ( Something similar like already suggested in NTS-I-1303) It would be perfect if that text could also be @computed

That would be really nice.

Every design element needs an overall, this portal is littered with requests of this nature, none of which are categorised as Planning to Implement, so I wouldn't hold out too much hope.

Sorry to be negative, just frustrated at what seems to be the false new dawn.
