Push Notifications

Both browsers and smartphones have push notifications but it is not implemented in Nomad.

Provide us a way to send notifications on certain triggers in an application (e.g. new/changed document, ...)

    If there had not been so much effort to web enable ugly-aged Notes Client applications (aka Nomad) in order to prevent the "Notesh-Can-Do-Everything" fraction from learning to develop truly web based applications, we could have a nodeJS framework for Domino with full access to all objects, methods and functions in JavaScript. That could also enable us to manage our code, to implement production-proven plugins for push-notifications. But instead of opening that platform to have all the great possibilities, we urge HCL to implement a plethora of features in an already not manageable product. Why? Because we are not allowed to use a development environment of our choice and are forced to live in that completely closed box. Do they see that at HCL at all?

    there is no reason why we should not open this up to:

    Please make use of the notification capabilities of the major OS like Windows, iOS, Android and Mac OS.

    Notes and nomad should become event-aware, where ever they are running.

    This will be greate for Web Applications also, a nice option will be like Send function to have a notification function.

    Nomad already uses websockets, so this should be possible.

    Yes! This feature would be great, combined with some background activity, e.g. background replication that is fetching new docs from server then displays notification on new docs and a method to display a notification after x minutes / at fixed times.
