Welcome to the #dominoforever Product Ideas Forum! The place where you can submit product ideas and enhancement request. We encourage you to participate by voting on, commenting on, and creating new ideas. All new ideas will be evaluated by HCL Product Management & Engineering teams, and the next steps will be communicated. While not all submitted ideas will be executed upon, community feedback will play a key role in influencing which ideas are and when they will be implemented.

I strongly support the implementation of RFC 5233 subaddressing (plus addressing) in HCL Domino.
Currently, most major mail systems such as Gmail, Microsoft 365, and various MTAs (like Postfix) support this feature natively. The lack of this capability makes it difficult for Domino to remain competitive in a modern collaboration environment.
Implementing this feature in the Domino Router would provide significant benefits:
Reduction in Administrative Overhead: Currently, creating temporary addresses requires manual updates to Person documents by IT admins. Native subaddressing would allow users to create on-the-fly aliases (e.g., user+detail@domain.com) without any helpdesk intervention, significantly reducing management costs.
Enhanced User Experience: Users can better organize and filter their incoming mail using standard Mail Rules based on the subaddressing string.
Security and Privacy: It allows users to track where their email addresses are being shared or leaked, improving overall security awareness.
Everyone has this as a standard today. HCL Domino does not. We need to get Domino current. This would be a great help in building applications in Domino where responses and information comes in via email.
Has anything been done on this, maybe v14?
