We are happy that we are at least on Java 8 for now but... the rest of the world is moving on.
Our team contain most Java developers and our code runs in Domino (inside osgi-bundles) and this works very well but we would like to have a more current verion of Java.... 11?
btw, the current latest LTS java version is Java 17... not 11.
I'm an IBM i shop. I've been burned by IBM i upgrades and Java issues with Domino.
Details:
IBM i 7.2 didn't support Domino for months because they renamed 5761JV1 to 5770JV1 and Domino had that exact string hardcoded in the HTTP startup.
IBM i 7.3 didn't support Domino for months because they dropped Java 6.
IBM i 7.4 didn't support Domino for months because they dropped Java 7.
I think the new update coming out in the spring will still support Java 8. But the one following that 3 years later will probably not
In Domino 12 I can do a SHOW JVM and it matches the IBM i command QSH CMD('java -version') down to including words like 'OS/400'. IBM will be dropping support for Java 8 at the time the rNext + 1 comes out and I'm betting it won't support Java 8.

Domino does not use the Oracle JVM at all.
From a case I have opened

Hope you are doing great today. As for your inquiry regarding the JAVA 11 support for DOMINO, currently we do not have update on this but it will be surely address. We are coordinating this with our service planners.

I got a message that this idea was set on 'likely to implement'.... this is the best news in 2021 if true... ;-)
Oracle ends premier support for Java 8 in March of 2022 as per

We need support for a newer JVM!
