Force databases to execute Compact even though "COMPACT_FILTER" is enabled

Customer use "COMPACT_FILTER" setting in notes.ini to exclude some databases from the target of Compact when they execute online maintenance.



However, they want to execute Compact for these databases during offline maintenance, so they need to disable "COMPACT_FILTER" at that time and it's a little annoying.



They want to have a way to force databases to execute Compact even though "COMPACT_FILTER" is enabled.

    A practical example:

    Archiving options are configured in a heavily used database for which Compact always fails and which is therefore listed in COMPACT_FILTER. However, a COMPACT -A does not handle the database because it is listed in COMPACT_FILTER.

    It does not sound logical to override a setting that you have set before.
