Welcome to the #dominoforever Product Ideas Forum! The place where you can submit product ideas and enhancement request. We encourage you to participate by voting on, commenting on, and creating new ideas. All new ideas will be evaluated by HCL Product Management & Engineering teams, and the next steps will be communicated. While not all submitted ideas will be executed upon, community feedback will play a key role in influencing which ideas are and when they will be implemented.

Implementing a Deletion Address book

Please allow deleted documents to be transferred from the NAB to a deletion address book. This could be optionally enabled in the Master Address book for the whole domain. The Deletion Address book should then be available and replicated on all servers, just like the NAB.

To be able to use this currently, the database script must be manipulated. The disadvantage is that the script must be updated with every change in the NAB.

The benefit of a deletion addressbook ...

in distributed environments, but also in smaller ones where multiple admins and/or semi-automated processes can perform document deletions.

It is difficult or even impossible to track which documents have been deleted.

A deletion address book makes it possible to determine when a document was deleted and at which location. Consequences of a deletion can be traced and... the document can be easily recovered.

In projects with large Domino environments I have seen the benefits of this, although there the deletion address book was filled manually.
