Check if a server is running with a Event Handler

At the moment on Domino ddm/events4 there is a limitation: you can't monitorize if a Domino server is UP or DOWN sending an alert via e-mail, unless you have a secondary Domino server in tha same Domino Domain.

It could be powerful if the event handler worked on different Domino domains. In that case you could setup a Domino server specifically to monitor different Domino servers that run in a stand-alone configuration.

    Hello. Thanks for you comments.

Sure at now I'm using an external products to monitor Domino servers.

Anyway I'm still guessing why there is an option in events.nsf but It works only in one domino domain configuration and HCL Domino last release still has the limitation it won't work on multiple domino domains.

For up/down monitoring, did you consider using business partner solutions?

that's a very specific requirement, that I would not see as needed by many customers.
there are many other ways to monitor a server.
