HCL Domino Ideas Portal

Welcome to the #dominoforever Product Ideas Forum! The place where you can submit product ideas and enhancement request. We encourage you to participate by voting on, commenting on, and creating new ideas. All new ideas will be evaluated by HCL Product Management & Engineering teams, and the next steps will be communicated. While not all submitted ideas will be executed upon, community feedback will play a key role in influencing which ideas are and when they will be implemented.

Forward the mails directly from the user's home server to the specified server in the other domain

The routing path for mail to another domain on the current Domino server is determined by the domain name appended to the address only. Even if the presence of that address (user) in the secondary Domino directory and the configuration of the home server to another server in the other domain by connection document has no effect on the routing.

This specification may sometimes result in mail being routed to servers that are not expected.

As an enhancement, request implementation of the functionality to forward the mails directly from the user's home server to the specified server in the other domain, when an email is sent to a user registered in a secondary (or later) Domino directory, and the connection document from that user's home server to that server to another domain exists.

This is already possible today by using connection documents. To troubleshoot your specific situation please either open a support ticket or drop me a mail
