This would be specially interesting for add-on applications delivering their own setup.
I don't think admins would like to deal with JSON just to manage their servers.
Once the server is setup, we should have easier ways to maintain a server.
But having the application part available for add-on applications shipping their own OTS JSON for the application part would be very helpful.
IMHO The setup part should not be repeated once the server is setup.

with this feature it will be possible to deliver best practices configurations or security updates on existing servers, too.
