Welcome to the #dominoforever Product Ideas Forum! The place where you can submit product ideas and enhancement request. We encourage you to participate by voting on, commenting on, and creating new ideas. All new ideas will be evaluated by HCL Product Management & Engineering teams, and the next steps will be communicated. While not all submitted ideas will be executed upon, community feedback will play a key role in influencing which ideas are and when they will be implemented.

SAML 2.0 Integration using third Party Certificate

Domino Supports integration with SAML2.0 IdP using ADFS, TFIM and AuthnRequest SAML 2.0 compatible other Idp Solutions. The integration with AuthnRequest SAML 2.0 compatible IdP works out of the Box using a self signed certificate for SAMLAssertion signing and encryption. This self signed certifiate is created using "Create SP Certificate" method in IdpCat Configuration Document.

However, in case you wish to use an actual Certificate issued by a valid third party CA for the purpose of Signing and Encrypting SAML Assertions, the system does not work unless you disable the Signing and Encryption of assertions using requisite setting in Notes.ini. This means, using an actual certificate other than the self signed certificate integrates with Idp only if you disable signing and encryption of assertions. This implies that the actual usable option effectively excludes the genuine CA issued certificates.

It is recommended that functionality to enable use of CA issued external certificates be fully supported in SAML 2.0 Authentication for Domino using external IdP.
