Add support for IBM i 7.6

IBM i 7.6 is currently supported and generally available. We'd like to upgrade from IBM i 7.5 to IBM i 7.6.

We'd like it with Domino 12 as our developers aren't ready to roll out 14 as we have too many Domino apps dependent on 32bit clients.

      Am I reading this wrong?

"Starting with Domino 14.0, only 64-bit Notes clients are supported. "

First of all I really want to know when you will be supporting IBM i 7.6 with Domino.

But, as far as your questions go. Yes we know the server runs 64 bit. But only Domino 12 supports Windows clients running 32 bit Notes client apps. We tried running 64bit Notes clients under Domino 12 but they would fail with our custom applications. The Notes client apps we have use multiple 32bit Windows API calls. What exactly, IDK, I'm not the app developer. We've recently hired another app developer and it is on his list to migrate that but there are so many priorities. And he basically was to replace someone who retired.

If I was to upgrade my server to Domino 14 I would have to swap out all my 32bit Windows Notes clients to 64 bit Notes clients.

On the plus side, we do have the following setup in a test environment:

      Release of base option . . . . . . . : V7R6M0

      Type-model

      9105-41B

      Domino Domino

      Server Subsystem Library Release

      GDI01 DOMINO01 QDOM120002 12.0.2

      GDISYS01 GDISYS01 QDOM120002 12.0.2

      GDISYS02 GDISYS02 QDOM120002 12.0.2

      > show server

      HCL Domino (r) Server (Release 12.0.2FP5 for i5/OS) 06/09/2025 09:03:24

And this seems to be working. But "the man" says that doesn't qualify as "supported".

Also: why do you want to push for the latest OS bei g used while you want to stay behind with Domino? It would be more ligical to upgrade both.

I dont understand why you say you need to stay on Domino 12 for 32bit. The server is 64 bit since years, and you can of course connect with a 32bit client.
e.g. you can upgrade your server to v14 and continue to use clients on v12
