Add a possibility to take a database offline

Would be nice to take a notes-database offline. Make it transparent for users. ie. "This database is currently in maintenance mode, pleae try later" on the Notes Client and on acessing via http.

Good for doing some tasks like compact -c, deploying new design with some todos for the admin/designer, before the database goes back online.

In a cluster you can take databases offline and let users get redirected to the cluster partner (only for NRPC not HTTPS).

A database can also be taken offline witout a cluster, but then there is no failover.

What is missing in this functionality?

I have needed it so many times during my work as administrator! I ended up having to restart Domino in the evening.

Agree this is a good idea.  As a work around in the past we have used a web site rule to re-direct a user to maintenance page.  This obviously only works for web databases.
