HCL Domino Ideas Portal

Welcome to the #dominoforever Product Ideas Forum! The place where you can submit product ideas and enhancement request. We encourage you to participate by voting on, commenting on, and creating new ideas. All new ideas will be evaluated by HCL Product Management & Engineering teams, and the next steps will be communicated. While not all submitted ideas will be executed upon, community feedback will play a key role in influencing which ideas are and when they will be implemented.

This should be investigated by opening a support ticket instead of submitting an idea.

IMHO, the full text index does not care if said NSF is a local replica or a new copy. Since you mention that your search fail, most likely the full text index is problematic (corrupted or incomplete).

Usually you just need to delete and re-create the full text index. No need to copy / re-create the local replica.

Version of Domino Server and Notes client during this exercise?

FTI isn't replicated, it has to be created manually.

Could AV impact on the search process depending on how the replica or file copy arrived on your workstation?

    The problem is:

    • I create a local replica from an application.
    • I create a local FTI for it (regardless of if while creating the replica or afterwards).
    • The mentioned search fails (but works on the server replica).
    • Then I perform the workaround you suggested, e.g.:
    • I delete my local replica.
    • I create an OS file system level copy of the database from the server to my local Notes client's data directory.
    • I create a new FTI locally for this new "replica".
    • Optionally I even encrypt this new "replica" (does a local copy style "compact")
    • Now the mentioned search works.

It is not a problem with whether a local FTI is created or not. It is a problem with the standard replica creation process. This seems to be doing something wrong or omits something so that the search fails later (and no local compact or fixup can solve this). The way of creating the local database replica differs and is the factor if my search works or doesn't. The way of creating of the local FTI is the same in both cases, AFTER the local database replica was created.
