If there is strong evidence that SAML will be a widely used method of authentication for at least the near future, then I would support this change. IBM had a long history of either being late to the party or supporting tech that ends up not being the popular choice.
How about completely removing the Notes password and only use a single point for authentication? This already works for Notes clients when using SAML.
Non availability of password syncronization from web to notes is creating loads of confusion among our company management and employees. This should be made available by developing. It will be added feature and give another plus point to Lotus Domino..
