To ensure that the French language is protected, Quebec has a statute in place. It is imperative that we use French software while communicating in both French and English. Having a dictionary that can be used in both English and French could be useful. cookie clicker
On the fly language detection would be the ultimate solution.
But while we are waiting, how about customisable Toolbar icons to tag or select language? For example, if I write in both English and Polish, then I can customise button(s) to select the language I want.
I am sure that many years ago I came across an unofficial LotusScript method to achieve this, (can no longer find it!) but this should be baked into the official Notes client
On the fly language detection and change would be a great help. This should occur on untagged texts only!
Example:
If I start writing a text in English - using typical English words - the language should automatically assume "English" as language. If I create a new paragraph/sentence with German words, "German" should be selected automatically.
But if I tag a sentence with a specific language, that tag should remain, of course.
This a common request notes vs outlook users!
please evaluate for v11
In Quebec we have a law to protect french language. We need to use french software but communicate in french and english. Could be good to have a dictionnary that work in both language.
Notes v10.x does not do spell check in other languages than English. Need to be fixec soon.
SPR was created in 901 and planned for “release after 901FP10”.
spell check it self works fine with different languages, the only issue is that when typing text, text is not properly tagged with correct language. If manually tagged, it works. We have to detect language in OS locale, and tag properly text
A very good idea for those of us who work with international clients and colleagues, or in bilingual countries (Canada, esp Quebec) and routinely use multiple languages in emails depending on who we're communicating with.
Please spell checking also for webbased HTML CKEditor
