Hello Thomas,
above all, it is important to me for incomming email on an importance stamp, for myself.
When I put important emails into a folder, they are often out of mind and that's the problem. I leave the email that is important to me in the inbox so as not to lose sight of it.
Honestly, it's easy: with the mouse you select the emails in the inbox, press an action button, an input box opens and you enter a prio number between 1 and 10. After that comes a messagebox and ask you, if you want to select a category for this, then comes a dialoguelist and you select the category. Now you have in your inbox on the far left a column by category, this is categorized by priority and in addition you have a seeable category as info for this. You want something more. That would be perfect. Today I have to scroll, scroll, scroll... i am dead comming with Scrolling, Scrolling... and have no information
My main problem is the many emails that are otherwise all the same in the Inbox.
By the way, your graduation session with Rudi - AdminCamp was superclass.
What defines which mail is important? If this will remain a manual action (e.g. button+define priority) it will still require a person to do the work.
I have already received many requests. Everybody wants to see first what's important in the inbox and then what's new or the other way around. If you still see in the column, why, as the category, then that's perfect. You also get more than 150 e-mails a day, but imagine the added value.
I can only give you the idea.
Moving to category Notes, well knowing that this also applies to Verse and Mobile clients
Folders are not categories, the problem is more than 150 emails every day, the inbox is confusing. If you could prioritize them in fast-forward, and sort this in a column very left, then the important emails are on top. That would be superclass. The right could be the category, then you know what it is. The requirement would be very important, because many supervisors with many mails
Aren't Folders the same as categories, used with Follow Ups it virtually gives you that, not all in the Inbox though granted. Don't think I would want to see Categories, Priorities, Follow Ups and Recipient icons in the one view. Follow ups needs to be slicker though by taking some of the ideas from Verse.
