Support for OpenJDK instead of Oracle Java

Many companies switch from standard Oracle Java to OpenJDK because of the changes in product policy that are comming this year. We hav to use the Meeting Java Plugin in our environment and will lose the Oracle Java installation. Will the Open JDK Java be supported by IBM?

Even the latest Domino server and Notes client, i.e. 10.0.1, come with their own built-in JVM from IBM. That means, you do not have to worry about Oracle's licencing conditions changing. See also https://developer.ibm.com/javasdk/support/commercial-licensing/.

Re. "any java applets clientside needs to be replaced with other techniques", as mentioned in a previous comment: I don't think that is accurate. The JVM that comes with Notes (including Notes 10) does support Java applets under Windows (unfortunately not MacOS).

We need new java tech and features such as servlet 3.0/4.0 !  Replace JVM with OpenJVM to catch the future!

As far as I know Sametime and Domino uses IBM java on server side and any java applets clientside needs to be replaced with other techniques.
