Location Type - Bring Notes to Modern Times

Thomas H. asked me to break up the original post, https://domino-ideas.hcltechsw.com/ideas/NTS-I-931, so the dev team could tackle each item individually.

 

Why is there a location type on the basics tab of a Location? Isn't everyone at this point on a LN or WAN? Just remove the preference option and stop reminding people of the 90s.

    For me it's not uncommon to have "No connection" and/or want to have an option to stop Notes replicating with the server.

     

    We have users who take local replicas to customer sites where they have no access to the internet or access to mobile data networks. This is an example of where "No connection" is used.
