Down vote for me also. We also use folders for grouping/filtering documents to reduce the list of documents from a main view. It would be a disaster if users could then inadvertenly delete large groups of documents when removing folders.
Oh. NO thank you. This is completely contrary to the way Notes has worked for 30 years.
It takes 2 minutes to explain to users why Notes View/Folder structure is infinitely more flexible than a basic Folder-Based messaging app. Why not explain that benefit to users instead?
I would not like this at all. The way I see it, a folder is a temporary location, into which a subset of the population of documents is placed. Think of the folder as a 'project' that begins when I put a selection of documents into the folder and ends when I remove the documents from the folder.
In a non-mail application it would often be a DISASTER to have the documents in a folder deleted when the folder is removed. The documents in the folder are part of the larger population of documents and, in most situations, should not be deleted when the project is completed.
This would run completely contrary to the way folders are designed and intended in Notes. I guess I could see having a prompt in the mail db only, but folders are more like tags in some products in that the documents don't live there, they are simply shown there.
Maybe a prompt asking you if you wanted to delete the contents.
After all, emails could be in more than one folder.
I personally wouldn't like this behavior.
This would make Notes behavior more industry standard and would help avoid "orphaned" messages when the folder is deleted without first moving files to trash.
