Validation needed that the database will not be copied from the data directory during the upgrade to version 14.0.


During the upgrade process from the 32-bit HCL Notes client to the 64-bit v14.x version, custom files and folders located in the Data directory (e.g., \Notes\Data\Archive, or user-defined databases under folders) are being deleted. This occurs due to environment/system-level issues—potentially involving OS file handling, user permissions, or migration scripts misfiring.

To prevent data loss and improve the user experience, it is requested that the Notes upgrade process be modified to:

  1. The upgrade process should automatically detects custom files/folders/databases in the Notes data directory.

2.Display a prompt indicating that system issues have been detected, and users must back up or relocate custom files and folders in the Data directory before proceeding with the upgrade.
