If you drag a contact to the desktop, it should create a vCard file

In the client I have access to right now (9.0.1) and previous, if you drag a contact to the desktop, you get some sort of weird link file.
 
It should convert that contact to a (properly extentioned) *.vcf file.
 
If you drag multiple to the desktop, it should create multiple, individual *.vcf files. 
 
(You can create a single vcf file with multple contacts by using the export function in contacts.)
