HCL Domino Ideas Portal

Welcome to the #dominoforever Product Ideas Forum! The place where you can submit product ideas and enhancement request. We encourage you to participate by voting on, commenting on, and creating new ideas. All new ideas will be evaluated by HCL Product Management & Engineering teams, and the next steps will be communicated. While not all submitted ideas will be executed upon, community feedback will play a key role in influencing which ideas are and when they will be implemented.

Notes:// links should appear as http:// links for external non-Notes Clients

Enhancement Request to change current limitation

When sending a notes:/// link (with the Notes Client) to an external user, there is not an option for this to be displayed as a http:// link instead, as there is with Traveler, iNotes and SmartCloud Notes

It works in SmartCloud as  follows already: https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSPS94/hybrid/topics/cfg_specifying_how_noteslinks_display_t.html

It works in Traveler as follows already: https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSYRPW_9.0.1/ConvertingNotesDocumentLinksToWebLinks.html

It works in iNotes as follows already: https://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg1LO76819

It should be possible to configure Notes as well as with Traveler, iNotes and SmartCloud Notes above to have the same functionality where an original notes:// link can be converted and viewable to be a http:// link to an external non-Notes client, such as Outlook.

    Dear Guest,

could you please specify how exactly this can be done (since 4.x).

Because we couldn’t set it up and neither was IBM Support able to give us instructions on how to do it.

This functionality exists from 4.x, Server Document HTTP Section has Reference Field, which says how Notes links will be transformed in HTTP links
