Development Lotus Workflow

Within history workflow has always been a big topic for the creation of notes application.

During the times of Notes/Domino 5-7 a tool called "Lotus Workflow" was offered to create, modify and to visualize processes and process status of certain documents and their workflows. It was rock solid, easy to handle and was even combinable to the out of office status of a users mailfile.

For the last past Notes versions this tool is still available but not really support. IBM did not spend time to develop this (still used) tool. It got some few web interfaces and mobile subforms but was not modified to be usable for REST services or XPages.

If we want to make development more simple we also need a tool that helps us to create and monitor processes and workflow in a fast and simple way, too.

I agree that having the tools similar to Lotus Workflow would enable non-developer to create a Domino Application. I believe that this is something that HCL can cover with their Low Code / No Code initiative for Domino 11.

However for seasoned developer, these tools is somewhat nice to have. Any experienced Domino Developer would most likely have some sort of "template" that they always use to kickstart their development.
