It was meant just in case the room changed. This change could be processed automatically or give the option for it, but not in general for all changes to the meeting.
This idea isn't generally about auto-processing whenever a change is made, but only when the room changes.
Just tested, and it already works. The user just needs to enable autoprocessing of meeting invitations in the calendar preferences.

We already have this, just enable the preference to "Automatically process meeting updates and apply changes to meetings"
