Standalone Product

For years IBM (now HCL) Notes Client has been marked as a network communication product for businesses.  As a sole proprietor accounting practice, I have been waiting for the power of this subsidiary product to be realized.  I have been using Notes Client without a Domino Server for over 15 years.  Unfortunately I have had to configure around not having a server.  Now that  tech has changed so much, I am at a crossroads of continuing to use Notes or find another product that can perform the connections (indpendent website, google data,  mobile access) that I wish to use for my practice.  It is time to release the full power of Notes without a Domino Server.

    What you are asking for is a low cost / free of charge version of the Domino server that small businesses or teams can run.

    I guess your approach would make sense if whatever application that you are using only require 1 user. One benefit of the later versions is that it become (much) more easier to setup a domino server. Yes this most likely mean additional license but you could probably use the XWork license. With Domino server you can now also use HCL Nomad to access your application on mobile client (iPad for now, Android Tablet in the near future).
