Ability to provide and manage pre-defined contact groups to users

While using Sametime, we expect to have server settings or some options possibly through a policy may be, where we can have pre-defined public Sametime contact groups in end users Sametime contact list. So that new users won't have to manually add all the contact groups they need.

    Thank you for this Idea and feedback. I've updated the title and description to clarify the feature and set the status to "Under Consideration". This is a needed feature for consideration, possibly adding it to the new Administration client on our immediate roadmap.

    In addition to adding groups via policy, we need o be able to remove groups via policy. Eg. When our Domino group changes from "All" to "Everyone" we need to be able to delete All and add Everyone.

    Policy should be enabled that allows an administrator to add in the public groups from the domino address-book that they wish to prepopulate the Sametime contact list with

    Hi Gaganpreet Saini,


    as the suggestion links to admin activities, it could be a first step to have an instruction on how to export and then distribute these default group(s) to the users. E.g. via a policy.

    There are ways to export and import buddy lists in Sametime. However, we don't have a UI to do this or a "default" buddy list to start with. I know in the past some of our business partners have provided such a tool. We'll look into this and check if any such tools still exist.

    Yep, that's someting I miss also!


    In many cases user don't know how to add public groups, plus it has t obe repeated for every new user.
