The asterisk character "*" is automatically removed when copying/pasting to a Meeting chat

During a ST meeting chat, if I attempt to use the asterisk character, it does not show correctly in the chat.

Input in chat: *.* test
Output in chat: . test

Per discussion, this is due to the Markdown encoding occurring:

As a workaround, you can enter tick marks around the text, e.g.
Input in chat: `*.* test`
Output in chat: *.* test

which shows correctly.



The asterisk character is not the only character impacted by this markup language. Enhancement request being opened to request the ability to:
1) Disable the markup on a per user basis
2) Have this be a setting that can be saved in a user profile (vs. having to disable it every time you join a new meeting)

This will allow copying/pasting from applications outside of ST meetings to work as expected.
