User cannot see the camera without enabling video streams

When a user joins a meeting and has not enabled 'Stream over wifi only' in their application settings before joining the meeting, they are unable to use the camera.

We request that the user can share videos without enabling/disabling the 'Stream over wifi only' option.

    Thanks! For #2 I believe this is a known issue development is working on. #4 we should troubleshoot this more since it works in our internal testing. Can you reopen CS0434541 and tag me. I'll work with support and dev to review.

    Stream over wifi only enabled - try to join using mobile data

    --- video will not work.

    Stream over wifi only enabled - try to join using wifi

    --- video will not work. and crash app

    Stream over wifi only disabled - try to join using mobile data

    --- video will work

    Stream over wifi only disabled - try to join using wifi

    ----- video will not work.


    Version server Sametime 12.0.1 FP1 and Client Android version 12.0.10 Build:20231211-1844-PB

    Hi Dario, I discussed this in detail with our development team and also performed testing.

    1. Stream over wifi only enabled - try to join using mobile data - video will not work

    2. Stream over wifi only enabled - try to join using wifi - video will work

    3. Stream over wifi only disabled - try to join using mobile data - video will work

    4. Stream over wifi only disabled - try to join using wifi - video will work

    The 1st scenario is working as designed, as this is what the option is enabled to prevent. Can you confirm if you are not seeing this same behavior and then reopen the support case for review. I can assign getting this thru support and help identify why you are not seeing the above behavior. What client and server versions are being used?

    I am aware of a known issue when toggling the camera results in a hang/crash. This defect is under review.

    I Have open the case CS0434541 and said this:

    We suggest you submit an enhancement request as you want the user to be able to share videos without enabling/disabling the 'Stream over wifi only' option.

    The goal of enhancement requests is for customers to describe the functionality and features they think we should add to the software.


    This functionality there are not exists now.

    This is an issue on Android and I've requested the dev team address. Please open a support ticket to track. Marking this ideas as already available, as what is reported is not "working as designed". Thanks
