Reply to Specific Messages in Sametime Chats

Description:

Currently, Sametime does not provide a way to reply to specific messages in a chat. In modern messaging applications, the ability to reply to a particular message is essential for maintaining context in conversations, especially in group chats where multiple discussions can happen simultaneously.

Requested Feature:

Introduce a "Reply to Message" feature in Sametime chat that allows users to quote and respond directly to a specific message. This feature should:

  • Display the quoted message above the reply, making it clear which message is being responded to.

  • Work in both 1:1 and group chats.

  • Be accessible via right-click (desktop) and long-press (mobile).

  • Optionally provide a "jump to original" function for better navigation.

Benefits:

  • Improves conversation clarity, particularly in fast-moving discussions.

  • Enhances user experience by aligning with modern messaging expectations.

  • Helps users track and engage in relevant parts of a conversation without losing context.

This feature would significantly enhance the usability of Sametime and bring it closer to industry standards for chat applications.
