Support Downloading Contact Photos from Business Cards over HTTPS with Self-Signed Certificates

Currently, the Notes Sametime client does not support downloading contact photos from business cards when the source uses HTTPS with self-signed certificates. This limitation impacts organizations that enforce secure communication policies and restrict access to HTTP-based resources due to compliance requirements.

To ensure alignment with modern security standards and provide a consistent user experience, we kindly request an enhancement to enable photo retrieval from business cards over secure HTTPS connections, including environments utilizing self-signed certificates.

Implementing this enhancement will:

• Strengthen alignment with industry-standard security practices

• Support environments where HTTP usage is fully restricted

• Ensure seamless contact photo access and a more unified user experience

We request that this functionality be considered for inclusion in a future Notes/Sametime client release.
