Make available archiving features/capabilities on Verse On-premise

Currently the archiving features/capabilities are available only when using Notes Client or iNotes.

We are implementing VOP at a customer company and the customer is asking for these features/capabilities on VOP as well.

There aren't any current plans for local archive.  Server-side archive has been shipped.

Please consider support for local archive in Verse on Premise. We have presented VOP to many customer that were initially very interested but back away once they learn that they still need to keep the Notes Client for archiving to local NSF as well as opening existing archive.

We are planning on server side archive.  I don't see this as being a DOLs experience which has already been deprecated from the iNotes experience.  Archive is a priority and being worked on for delivery just as soon as possible.  As you know, we deliver on a quarterly basis so that we can rapidly make VOP a state of the art client.

Both local or server is acceptable. It can be like outlook concept, where u can create your local pst or nsf, and its shown as a local at the bottom where u can drag the mails to local inbox/folders.

Or install another software would be fine, but hope its not like DOLS which I personally find its quite unstable and unfriendly.

    Thanks.

Since this idea is changed to shipped, please tell us how to enable local archiving (the merged ideas explicitly said local) in Verse on Premise. A quick search for "Verse on Premise" and "archive" return no meaningful hit.

Maybe you mean server based archiving ?

Found another ideas that is similar https://domino.ideas.aha.io/ideas/VRSOP-I-75

IMHO, it would be fantastic if you could archive to a local NSF using VOP but server based archiving is acceptable if there is a way to automatically split the archive by year AND size and also put them in a linked folder that point to a separate NAS.

In response to question local/server : We are only dealing with customers, who are using serverbased archives. VoP could actually provide the same solution, that iNotes already provides - a link pointing to the user's archive database (ideally on a separate archive server).

Yes, I have the same question.  Since the size of the local file on the laptop can be quite large at this point.

Verse on premise is good product and easy and friendly to use. However one disadvantage is no archiving feature. Kindly Do look into Local Archiving feature as priority pls.
