set column format based on formula

At the moment, you can set text and background color for a row based on a formula, using 'Use value as a color' option in a column.

It would be nice to have similar behavior to set column values to bold, underline, italic for a specific row or rows.

Hmm. I don't see how this would be a major redesign. We have a "color column" already.

That said, I would not mind the view column formatting to be stripped out, and use the Advanced tab CSS class. The Notes client already has a good deal of CSS support w/in it. I hack formatting and styling all the time for web-based views - open bracket less than, data, greater than, close bracket does all this. Come to think of it, how hard would it be on the Advanced tab, to just have the view's column(s) in Notes render the column as HTML?

This would be really useful. I'm afraid though that this would require a major redesign of how views work in general. See also https://domino-ideas.hcltechsw.com/ideas/DOMINO-I-333.
