Check boxes in action bar: not usable with light font colour

Create a new action in an action bar of type check box. Use a dark background in the action bar and a light font colour (we use gray 225, 225, 225). You won't see, if the check box is checked or not, unless you use a magnifier (see attached images).

Please modify the design of the check box, so that it is usable with every font colour.
