New design element - dynamic table

We need a new design element to put on a Notes Form which would contain a resizable table. Perhaps it doesn't have to be a new design element, it could maybe be a richtext field but with new methods.

It would enable dynamic tables with arbitrary number of rows and maybe even columns, and it would be used to enable classical parent-child data relationship on a single Notes Document.

People now use their own creations and embedded views to display such relationships.

How about a repeat control like xpages? And in this repeat you should be able to create a table row that will be repeated x number of times to create your table.

Sounds like a multi-column list box... That would be a lot simpler to implement and update

OK, I'll elaborate, no problem :)

Embedded views carry a lot of problems with them (refreshing, calculating totals, etc.) and also, if you take that route, it means a whole lot of child documents, one for each row. Sometimes you have just a couple of columns and the data could be written on the "parent" document.

What’s wrong with embedded views? It is dynamic, can be formatted well, and is fast.

    Please elaborate on your idea.
