We are a SAAS partner, who hosts an Inspection system for Health Departments in the US. Each of our Clients has a unique Inspection DB, Registration DB and ID Vault. They all share a common NAB.
We have developed a manual process to allow the set up of the individual Client DB suite and feel that a couple of the steps could be automated if HCL would provide the required Objects, Properties and Methods to automate the following processes:
Creating/maintaining new ID Vaults
Modifying the Extended ACL (xACL)
Creation/modification of required Policies
Our approach of providing a Registration DB offloads the requirement to manage User's, roles and functionality from the IT group to the Business User. Once the Business Users get a taste of managing their own User functionality, it would be a natural next step to introduce the concept of "Citizen Developers".
I would see this as being useful to any other SAAS partners who provide hosted solutions, and to large Companies, who want to compartmentalise Data/Users for different Departments, where "Chinese Walls" are required. For example, in a large Insurance company, they may want unique DBs/Users for Underwriting, Claims etc.
