Ability to add Alternate Name to userid('s) in Vault directly.

When you want to add an alternate name to a user, you have to have access to his/her user.id in order to Certify it.

We are planning to add Alternate Names to 3100 users but discovered that we don't have an option in Domino for that when users are in Vault only.

Thomas, wish that was true. The Alternate Name is also stored in the ID file. The entire process for adding this is based on altering the certifier and Certify users by that altered certifier.

    a. Add language to the certifier

    b. Certify user and choose the language ( a. ) and set the Alternate Name

This is the procedure for adding an Alternate Name. For B. you need access to the id file: https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSKTMJ_9.0.1/admin/conf_addinganalternatelanguageandnametoauserid_t.html

Why does the alternative name have to be in the ID file ? you can update the Domino directory to add any kind of alias, or ?
