Option or Parameter for rollover (Rename) Log.nsf and recreate new log.nsf.

Currently to rename/ Remove the existing log.nsf, the administrator have to stop the domino server and rename the existing log.nsf.

Is it possible to provide a option or parameter with which incase if the size of the log.nsf grown upto certain size, the existing log.nsf will be renamed automatically and new log.nsf will get created? The old log.nsf will be available on server but it will not be active.

This will helpful for the administrator to manage the size of log.nsf without restarting Domino server.

Instead of renaming the file on disk (+all the challenges that this comes along with), just use "compact -a" to archive individual documents from the log.nsf into another file.

Currently, the log.nsf huge size on busy mail/application servers is one of the small amount of reasons that lower the uptime of the server. Huge monthly or weekly sizes slow down the server's speed and need to be deleted and new ones created. If this could be managed automatically like what's happening with the mail journaling, that would be an immense improvement.
