Enable restoring a database and specify a new filename for the restore

It should be possible to restore a database with a new filename. For example, restore a "discuss.nsf" into "discuss_15022022.nsf", to be able to distinguish between several versions of the same database.

Sorry, but where is the option to specify another filename for the restore on the Restore Job form?

Why don't you try out if this works already, before creating an idea?
Maybe the development team thought about it, like they thought about so many other details an admin in the field would need with this new backup solution..

If you specify a file name with an extension that path is used :-)

You can specify a restore folder. It is also possible to assign a new replica ID to the restored database. And as a default the restored database has "Temporarily disable replication for this database" enabled.

My suggestion is from the experience, that you often need to work with the users of the database to restore all documents, or get the right versions of documents restored. That often require you to have more than one version of the database restored, and here the ability to specify the filename will come in handy.

I did not test the current v12 backup and restore yet. However, a restore often must not replace the original database. Instead a separate database must be created, e.g. to search for a single missing document.

So, yes, it must be possible to create a separate filename and disable replication - or crate a new replica, so that the restore does not influence the productive database.
