Following functional criteria and use cases for Domino IQ to enable users to query their own mailboxes using RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) for HCL Notes, HCL Verse and HCL Verse Mobile App.
The core objective is to allow Domino IQ to retrieve content from a user's mailbox to answer specific questions through the following capabilities:
1. Semantic Search/Retrieval: Moving beyond keyword matching to understand intent (e.g., finding "project updates" even if those exact words are missing).
2. Contextual Summarization: Analyzing long email threads to extract specific answers.
3. Data Extraction: Pulling specific data points like dates, tracking numbers, or invoice amounts from bodies and attachments.
Proposed Use Cases:
- Information Retrieval: "What was the final decision on the client logo?" or "When is my flight to New York?"
- Priority Management: "Which emails require an urgent response?" or "List all deadlines for the next 7 days."
- Relationship Analysis: "When did I last email [Client Name]?" or "What projects is [Colleague Name] waiting on me for?"
- Task Automation: Users should be able to ask the system to "Flag emails from my manager with action items" or "Find the PDF attachment for the hotel booking."
Additionally, Domino IQ should be able to classify and sort mail into categories such as Important, Urgent, To Be Actioned, or Deferred for Later.
