Smart host option to authenticate with other mailing system before routing mail to it

Similar to authentication to be done before relaying mails , this requirement is to have authentication when routing mails to the other mailing system when user have same internet domain as the Domino server internet domain.

I've just come across a scenario where this feature is required.
Any update on if this is being planned?

@Thomas, this seems to be a requirement for Office 365 co-existence. I hope HCL implements it soon.

@Thomas same here on customer site.
RELAY HOST in Config document does support authentification and is working fine. But customer needs a smart host, too. And there is no authentification available in the Config document for the SMART HOST! Please add here authentification, too.

@Thomas: SMARTHOST configuration does not have option for SMTP-AUTH.

I have the same problem. Thomas you are right, authentication is avaialable in the configuration document but it only works with an relay host. If your notes users have a "other internet mail" adress of the same internet domain as your server you are connected to the smart host and authentication doesn't work

Authentication options do exist for an SMTP connection - see Config document / Router/SMTP  / Basics
