Merged idea

Make the Workspace configuration tool disktool.exe available for download Merged

There was an IBM tool called disktool.exe that could be used to re-point workspace icons to an alternative server.

Please provide this download or an alternative.

It is very useful for server migrations and moves.

    Agree, the programmatic access to all Notes Workspace items is the preferred way forward.

    Ideally HCL would provide "programmatic access to all Notes Workspace items (tabs, databases, bookmarks, etc)" as suggested in this idea:

    @Thomas

    For clarification the tool provided was dsktool.exe and provided by Lotus/IBM. There were tech notes referring to it but the IBM support site is no longer and the HCL site has not transferred all tech notes.

    The  [RenameDatabase] command only renames individual named database icons dsktool could rename or delete all icons that pointed to a specific server.

    Why should the clients who have already purchased licences for Notes/Domino have to fork out more money to buy tools to provide functionality that should already be included?

    Why don't HCL buy  Panagenda MarvelClient and provide it free as part of Notes / Domino?

    Do you really want to run *.exe files on your workstation just for pointing a DB icon to another server?

    Have you considered doing this with...

    1.) an @formula : @Command( [RenameDatabase] ; server : database ; newServer )

    2.) there are desktop management tool like Panagenda MarvelClient, BCC ClientGenie or similar?
