HCL Domino Ideas Portal

Welcome to the #dominoforever Product Ideas Forum! The place where you can submit product ideas and enhancement request. We encourage you to participate by voting on, commenting on, and creating new ideas. All new ideas will be evaluated by HCL Product Management & Engineering teams, and the next steps will be communicated. While not all submitted ideas will be executed upon, community feedback will play a key role in influencing which ideas are and when they will be implemented.

Auto-remove "dead" tabs, when referenced documents are deleted

There should be a user-selectable option to auto-remove "dead" tabs.

In the current implementation, there is a problem.

Reproduce:

  • Open a document
  • Switch to View (=switch another tab)
  • In the View, delete the document that was previously opened
  • Switch back to document tab (referencing deleted document)

As a result, the deleted document will be displayed from cache.

With dozens of open tabs, this may be confusing and cause inefficient workflows for users.

With the auto-remove option enabled, tabs should automatically disappear, when users delete referenced documents.

As a bonus, there may be even a periodic cleanup task, which checks on "dead" tabs (both documents and databases).
