Connector Webex Meetings - HCL Notes Merged

It would be nice to have a connector between webex meetings and Lotus Notes to be able to schedule meetings without going through the web interface.

Thanks.

Well, it seems the only really working integration right now is the www.notes2conf.com from Germany. Besides webex it works for teams, zoom etc. Our users use several video conference systems, so we just enabled all and it works fine. Is a no brainer, as it just works seamless.

The Cisco plugin don't work for HCL Notes 11...

Notes2Conf is not a solution, because a customer need a sync with him WebEx istance...

When create/delete/etc a meeting in calendar need to sync...

Now it`s also possibel to avoid the webpage by changing the Notes template slightly. Then you are able to create, manage and attend direct meetings from Notes Client to Webex by avoiding the webpage/Waitingroom from Notes2conf.

The WebEx plugin is a software provided by Cisco/Webex - please direct your support questions to https://help.webex.com/

Great to see how big the interest is in our product, therefore we set up a series of webcasts to explain how simple and easy a integration can be done direct via the Notes Client into the various world of video-conference, like Zoom, Webex, MS Teams and GoToMeeting without programming or changes on the mailtemplate. We start on 08.10.2020 at 10:00 AM (Berlin time) with our first Webcast on: https://notes2conf.de/webinare/

@Thomas, maybe you can ask in the Webcast your question

This is not by WebEx, it is by Dacher Systems, which is an European BP, HQ in Germany. If found a 2 weeks trial in English = https://notes2conf.de/en/free-test/. It takes 2 minutes to configure Domino to work with this gateway. Domino thinks, this gateway is a Samtime server. So you have full integration for all versions of Notes/Domino.

Webex Meetings you can connect directly from your Notes Calendar via the Notes2conf gateway, which I found from a 3rd Party integrator: https://join.notes2conf.com/docs

I tested it already, it`s working quite good without changing something on the mailtemplate and also without installing something on my Domino servers. Great Idea, I`ll present this smart gateway to my manager next week in our teammeeting, will keep you here informed about his optinion. Maybe HCL can also think to have such a smart interface to connect the major 3rd party Videoconferencing vendors like Webex, Teams, Uber?

There is a 3rd party connector for it. No client installation or mail template change needed. Check out: Video Notes+Webex.

Integration exists, but it doesn't work!

I solve the same problem with the integration of Webex Meetings and HCL Notes as described below.

In version 11.0.1, the Webex icon is added to the action bar, but clicking does not trigger any action.

In version 10.0.1, after clicking on the Webex icon, the Meeting Now button and buttons pointing to preferences on the web are available. No Schedule Webex Meeting or Schedule Personal Room Meeting buttons.

Are there any procedures for setting up Cisco Webex Meetings and HCL Notes integration in 9.0.1, 10.0.1, and 11.0.1 in current versions?

Ideal if it will work for both macOS and Windows operating systems.

    @Thomas Hampel (Admin).

Tagging this request as "already exists" is not correct. Do you know any working integration with Notes 10.x/11.x and the latest WebEx cloud version? Yes, there is some kind of integration from Cisco, but it just does not work - at least not for us ;-)

I will try to explain our experience with it...

We managed to get the webex logo appearing in the toolbar, as well as getting the buttons into the meeting creations page. As soon you try to use the button "Add Webex meeting", a popup appears to insert your webex username/mail - after that you need to proceed, the popup shows a loading circle, but nothing happens, the popup disappears immideately. Useless...

If the "Cisco Webex Meetings Desktop App" runs in the background, the behaviour is a bit different. You click the "Add Webex meeting" button, the popup appears again to insert your webex username/mail - after that you click proceed, it loads again and suddenly the cisco webex meetings app pops up from the background. But no information from notes calendar entry is taken over to the meetings app. So this is also useless.

Please HCL - give a statement, what the current status of the existing "integration" is and how it should work correctly - if it is really working at all?! Did someone really test it with the latest versions? Can anyone post some screenshots, how meeting creation should look like?

Please also give a statement if you plan to implement a more easy integration (like outlook has) with just adding a location like @webex to get your meeting also scheduled there (in webex - without having to create the same meeting in Notes and in WebEx, all the time.

I think this will be a huge benefit for a lot of Cisco and HCL customers., if there would be a working solution for this.

    Please reply,

if you have more/other experience with the webex integration into HCL notes.

Maybe there is someone out there, who got it working ;-)

    Thank you!

There is API on webex side to create meeting and in the past we have add a custom button on calendar that call that API so it is possible but you need to modify your Notes Client mail template.

    Good morning,

the guide is valid for webex versions up to 32.

version 40 provides a separate installation for the Webex Productivity Tools.

I tried and the menu inside the toolbar appears, but the "add webex meetings" button cannot be displayed on the meeting creation page

Already exists, Cisco is providing a mail template and a tool to apply this template to Notes/Domino users : https://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/collaboration/webex_centers/esp/webex_b_it-administrator-guide-mass-deployment.pdf
