Add feature to fix up corrupted Calendar Profile in mail file

If Calendar Profile in the mail file is corrupted for any reason, various issues occur in the Mail, Calendar and Task feature of Notes client. To resolve these issues, the administrator of the Notes/Domino has to ask the end-users to write down the settings of Calendar Profile in a note, delete Calendar Profile with the LotusScript agent and configure Calendar Profile again using the note.

The similar idea "Please add a simple, "Delete Calendar Profile" button/option to the Mail/Calendar Prefs" has already been posted in this site but only deletion can be performed from the Action menu with this idea.

It is necessary to add the new feature which fixes up Calendar Profile to resolve the corruption of Calendar Profile in order to ease the burden of the end-users. This feature should have following functions:

  1. Check if the items in Calendar Profile have invalid values. If so replace the values with the default values.

  2. Back up the values of the items in Calendar Profile to the external file.

  3. Delete Calendar Profile.

  4. Recreate Calendar Profile.

  5. Restore the values from the external file to Calendar Profile.

    Indeed, but what are the reasons?

    Even many, many years and versions after this problems seemingly has been fixed, I observe problems with ghost-mailrules intermittently at different customer sites.

    Once in a month or so, I observe problems with defective "CALURLs"-fields in calendarprofiles resulting in "File Not Found" in the calendar-outline.

    Those problem are to obscure to be able to get them at the root - or even to invest time in them.

    Not to mention third-party software loading their stuff into profile-documents.

    Deletion via Advanced properties is a step in the right direction, but feels like the cannon (good to have it ;) ) where a scalpel would be better.

    I have seen that in 12.0.1 Client now "Advanced Properties"

    here you can also delete Profile Documents.
