Thomas Hampel, same question for you: how and where do you see all the mails that you have received?
What is creating confusion is the fact that if you go in the sent view, and then archive a message in a folder, you still see that mail in the sent view (and in the folder). Users cannot understand if that mail has been already archived or not.
It should simply working exactly as the inbox
Thomas Hampel, your response is why Lotus Notes will be hated by the masses. Has been and will be until it dies into the mists of obscurity.
In Outlook, the Sent "view", if you prefer that metaphor, is a fully actionable folder, NOT a VIEW.
You can do anything you want to objects in the Sent Folder, either leave it there, or drag it to your own archive, or make copies of it, like any file operations in a normal OS folder.
Just compare it with the functionality in Microsoft Outlook - no problem there... and the same could be done in Notes, no more confusing the users. However you need to enhance the search functionality with the properties "sent" and "received". Then it is no problem.
