Location document - Option to fix the server used for a chosen location

It would be good if we have an option to fix the server used for a chosen location.

Use case:

  1. Like to have a location we call to say "remote", where it replicates in the background but always uses the local databases and does not try to reach the server.

  2. Also, a location called to say "server", which always connects to a specific server and do not try to connect to other servers, even if this server is unavailable.

HCL should plan to bring this setting via a policy (or) another way to define this.

    I support this idea. If it were implemented I think the ability to specify a server name or a cluster name would probably best.

    Can you please explain why connecting to a (e.g.) cluster replica is wrong, especially if the primary server that you are typically replicating with is unavailable?
