Bring back basic client designer support

Even on modern CPUs with sufficient RAM the Eclipsed based designer causes a lot of delays and productivity loss.

Nomad Web uses a kind of basic designer. So the basic designer code should somewhere still in the client which is much faster. Even Nomad web is much faster than the standard client based designer.

Now that Notes 14.5 supports the basic client mode, please also bring back Notes Basic client support for the Designer, which would be a dramatic improve productivity.

Alternatively dramatically improve performance of the Notes Design client:


  • Opening databases

  • Opening design elements

  • Reformatting larger code sections
